Hope Text: Clara Ann Thompson (1869-1949) SATB Choir A Cappella This work explores the enduring strength found in optimism and resilience. Thompson's uplifting text reminds us that even in life's darkest moments, Hope remains a steady light, inspiring courage, comfort, and renewal. Will bring thee gifts, thou’lt value more, Because they cost so dear; The soul that faints not in the storm, Emerges bright and clear. |

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
SATB A Capella Choir Sing this old time favorite with your high school or community choir. This version includes the original verses along with the refrain we already know. The poem tells of a girl, Katie Casey, in the early 1900s who was asked to go see a play with her love interest but she says "No, I want to go to a baseball game!" In addition to being a fun piece to sing, this could lead in a discussion about gender stereotypes and how Katie Casey went against them. On a Saturday, her young beau called to see if she'd like to go, To see a show but Miss Katie said "no, I'll tell you what you can do;" Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack, I don't care if I never get back |
Holiday (Weezer)
SSAATTBB A Capella Choir From the Blue Album, Holiday is about escaping the every day stressors of life. It will challenge your choir (in a good way!) and delight audiences. Let's go away for a while You and I to a strange and distant land Where they speak no word of truth But we don't understand anyway Holiday, far away, to stay On a holiday, far away Let's go today In a heartbeat |
